Summer Shopping

So far this summer I've been doing a TON of reading and planning! But I also sneaked in some shopping too.

I've purchased a few books I plan to incorporate into this school year but they haven't arrived yet.. first time Amazon is being slow about shipping. Boo.

The Morning Meeting

I can't wait to incorporate morning meetings into my class! I feel like this is going to be one of my favorite times of the day. Do you do a morning meeting?  How do you like it?

Words Their Way Sort Books

No more traditional spelling lists from the basal, I will be using Words Their Way! Three books for three different levels of my high, medium, and low students.. but will see if I use all of them after my students take their first pre-test.

Name Plates from Lakeshore

I have never used such big name plates before so we will see how I like them. I don't have a hundreds chart posted in my room so I liked how they would have one at their desks and there is also a ruler, number line, alphabet, and the hand on the right tells them clues for what to do if their stuck on a word.  Giving students more resources right at their desk can't hurt right?

Spelling City Premium Membership

It was 50% off, I couldn't resist! I really wanted students to have their own log in so I can manage their lists since my students will have different lists and spelling words. I can't wait for students to practice their spelling words, vocabulary words, and sight words on here and use the fun games!

Books from a Goodwill Bookstore

There is a Goodwill bookstore (it basically resembles a used book store since it only has books) right by my parents house and I've been visiting them recently so I had to stop by. I bought all of the books above for $13.00! They are so affordable! 

They had so many great books, I could have purchased an entire shelf of books but I stopped myself... I want to see what my class library is going to look like with the books my school provides and how many more I'lld need in different categories/genres.

I also bought a group-on for a canoeing trip if that counts :)

Since I'm not busy with school all day I have plenty of time to find ways and reasons to shop! Do you feel that way too? What have you been buying recently?
